The Secrets of James Bond - A Musical Exhibition![]() On the 4th February 2012 a group of peculiar people met in the old hay barn in Schwemsal in the region of Bad Düben in Germany. The old hay barn is now a cultural center and was hosting the exhibition of John McLusky’s works, a British painter and cartoonist who created the face of James Bond in 1958 – four years before the first 007 film was ever made. John died in 2006, but his works will continue to enlighten and give joy presented by his son Graham and grand-son Tom. In the afternoon there was a lecture on Ian Fleming, John’s cartoons and, of course the films based on the books. And if you look closely at Johns images then it becomes quite apparent why the film industry chose Sean Connery as the first Bond actor. Well didn’t Mr. Connery look so alike John’s Bond. In the evening the band FUXX from Berlin brilliantly interpreted the songs of the James Bond films. A great European House of Arts UK and Germany production with a positive and motivated partner, Gottfreid Weihe, the man behind the `Gutsscheune’ in Schwemsal. |
